Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka declares that Svyatoslav Piskun, being in office of the Prosecutor General closed the criminal cases on activities of the corporation United Energy Systems of Ukraine in 2005 on demand of then President Viktor Yushchenko.

"I talked to Piskun, as it was him who personally declared the case was closed illegally. He told me that that Yushchenko called him and laid down demand to close the cases. Piskun answered that it was illegal, and Yushchenko said if he did not, he would no longer be a Prosecutor General. And Piskun closed, and personally sealed," Pshonka said.

The official also admits that both Yushchenko and Piskun can be interrogated on this case.
Pshonka specified that the case on UESU was closed on January 28, 2005, four days after Tymoshenko had been appointed the Prime Minister. According to the prosecutor General, this fact still surprises the investigators of his department.

At the same time Pshonak said he does not see anything criminal in the actions of Piskun regarding this case.

"There are no grounds to institute a criminal case against Piskun," he said and added that his actions can be estimated from the moral point of view only.
