Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov believes that the trade turnover between Ukraine and Azerbaijan can be increased by 2-3 times, the PM said during his meeting with Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade in Baku.
"As a result of growth in trade turnover our countries have reached the amount of $1.4 billion. This is definitely a good indicator. But I think we could increase this amount at least by 2-3 times, if we will make an effort required for implementation of joint projects," Mykola Azarov said, ForUm learned from the Cabinet's press office.
According to the Ukrainian prime minister, one of such projects is a transport corridor linking the Black and Baltic Seas. Azarov has invited Azerbaijan to join the work of the Black Sea-Baltic Sea transport corridor under the Viking project.
"We invite Azerbaijan to take part in this transport corridor. On the one hand it gives an opportunity to continue this corridor in the direction to Central Asia and on the other hand it will allow entering to the Baltic States, Belarus and other European countries," the Prime Minister said.
