Yulia Tymoshenko does not trust government doctors, the doctors from the Ministry of Health or officials from the state penitentiary service's medical department, and wants to be treated by independent physicians, her lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko told a press conference.
The lawyer stressed that Tymoshenko insists on treatment according to the recommendations made by the German physicians who examined her in prison in February.
“Yulia Tymoshenko continues insisting on strict adherence to the treatment protocol set by the German physicians, and that she be treated by independent doctors. These are two positions that Yulia Tymoshenko insists on. The treatment can take place in any specialized clinical institution that specializes in back problems,” he added.
At the same time Vlasenko pointed out that a medical facility where Yulia Tymoshenko will be treated should be approved by the foreign doctors of the international team that examined the former prime minister in prison earlier this year.
“The only doctors that conducted full medical examination of Yulia Tymoshenko were the German doctors. Therefore, they should agree in which clinic the opposition leader can be treated according to the plan developed by the international team,” Serhiy Vlasenko added.
