Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka has permitted to conduct treatment of jailed Yulia Tymoshenko outside the Kachanivska penal colony.

"Prosecutor General has given instructions to the State Penitentiary Service and health Ministry of Ukraine to take necessary measures within the current legislation to provide examination and treatment of jailed Yulia Tymoshenko in a specialized institution outside the Kachanivska penal colony," public liaison department of the PGO informed.

As reported, according to the German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung, negotiations are being held directly between the administration of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and the Office of Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel. According to the newspaper, Kyiv even assured Berlin that it wants to create legal grounds so as to make the treatment of Ukrainian prisoners abroad possible. For its part, the Charite management is ready to receive Tymoshenko in Berlin.

Tymoshenko was examined by two doctors from a Berlin university clinic in February but refused a course of treatment in prison proposed by Ukrainian and German doctors. Doctors from Berlin-based Charite Clinic insist on her immediate treatment outside of the colony.
