First vice PM of Ukraine Valery Khoroshkovsky believes it is possible to reach 80 million tons of the total yield of crops within a short period of time, he told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the official, in order to do so the government and farmers must agree on joint actions. "From the economic point of view the agrarian sector in one of few which brings positive trade balance. I had a meeting with academicians and agrarian society, and I propose   to establish partner relationships: ones stop complaining and the others stop ignoring. I mean the farmers and government," he said.

"Even under current conditions w can increase the crop yield in not twice, than at least up to 80 million tons per year," Khoroshkovsky added.

He also noted that the government and farmers should seek to build unsubsidized model in the agricultural sector.

In addition, the official believes that Ukraine must strengthen its positions in the agricultural marketing in order to develop export of agricultural products.
