"The entire technical procedure of translation and validation of the document will last about 7-8 months, so it will be difficult to sign it [agreement - ed.] this year," the MEP noted.
In this regard, he said, the association agreement between Ukraine and the EU could be signed early next year.
"However, this process can be accelerated if the relationship will get a new political impetus. A key point in this context, and it is no secret, is the case of Tymoshenko and other members of the opposition," Kowal added.
