The Party of Regions faction in the Verkhovna Rada is ready to support the ratification of the Agreement on free trade area with the CIS in the Verkhovna Rada, only after having studied the details of this document, said the MP, Chairman of the Party of Regions parliamentary faction, Olexander Yefremov, ForUm learned from the press office of the Party of Regions.
"In order to answer finally this question, the lawmakers need to review the text of the agreement, but currently there is no text in the Verkhovna Rada," he said.
"We are ready to consider this document, we have no particular objection to the direction of motion, because we have an economic co-operation with the Russian Federation - the trade turnover amounting to 56 billion dollars over the previous year, it is very difficult to joke with such things. And, according to experts, the accession to the CIS free trade area will give us additionally 2% of GDP," the MP explained.
According to him, Ukraine respects the position of the Russian Federation on the agreement, but without examining of the document it is not ready to make a decision.
"When we see this agreement in the Parliament, we will express the faction’s point of view on it," Olexander Yefremov stressed.
