Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has charged the Health Ministry with submitting propositions to solve the situation on medicine price formation, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Today the Health Ministry should propose concrete measures to solve the task," Azarov said at a meeting on health care system development.
According to the premier, the state should take medicine prices under strict control. "Formalism is unacceptable. Within the earliest date we must form a state system of price control," he said.
Azarov also informed he had studied public poll data regarding medicine in Ukraine. "People state it is almost impossible to receive free of charge treatment. Medicine has turned into business, while the Constitution guarantees every citizen full and free of charge complex of medical treatment. People with small income can no longer afford the majority of medicines and medical procedures," he said.
