Gas talks are far from finishing just because Ukraine does not offer anything in return, president of the Russian gas society and MP Valery Yazev declared.

"Demands of the Ukrainian side are groundless. We are ready for negotiations and we are taking part in the dialogue, but we would like the demands be reasonable and grounded. The Ukrainian side does not offer anything in return, but simply demands to reduce the gas price," Yazev said.

"Vladimir Putin once said: what would you give us in return?" Yazev reminded and added that gas supplies are carried out in accordance with 2009 gas contracts. According to the official, the fact that the signer of these contracts Yulia Tymoshenko is now in prison is a matter of Ukrainian justice system, but it does not change the fact that the contracts have international jurisdiction.

"If it wants Ukraine can apply to Stockholm arbitration," Yazev proposed.
