All three suspects of rape and attempted murder of a girl in Mykolayv are sons of former state officials, Interior Minister of Ukraine Vitaly Zakharchenko told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to the Minister, right after the crime went public he sent specialists of the Ministry to Mykolayv. "Tuesday evening the suspects were arrested. I charged the chief investigator of the department with analyzing the case in order to bring it under our jurisdiction," Zakharchenko declared.
He also underlined that on March 13 criminal cases were instituted against the offenders.
In response to the question whether the parents of the suspects are high-ranked officials the Minister said "their parents once worked as state officials."
