Ukraine and Turkmenistan continue maintaining a high dynamics of bilateral political contacts, President Viktor Yanukovych told the media after today’s Ukrainian-Turkmen negotiations, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.

"Mr. President of Turkmenistan and I are pleased with the intensification of political dialogue at all levels that undoubtedly is a powerful driving force of the development of Ukrainian-Turkmen relations. The agreement to continue maintain the high dynamics of bilateral political contacts has been reached," Viktor Yanukovych said.

President Yanukovych expressed his belief that today’s negotiations were a continuation of the constructive dialogue on the most important issues of bilateral relations and international issues started between Ukraine and Turkmenistan last September in Ashgabat during a visit of the President of Ukraine.

The President noted that as a result of today’s talks, a package of important documents on cooperation in various areas was signed.

"The most important thing is that we have a common goal: to expand the Ukrainian-Turkmen cooperation, implement new mutually beneficial projects that will in turn improve the lives of our citizens," he said.

For his part, the President of Turkmenistan noted that during today's talks the sides have discussed many important issues of bilateral cooperation.

"We are very pleased with the results of the talks. We consider them as an important contribution into the development of our country, strengthening friendship and cooperation between the states," Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov said.
