The Party of Regions and Strong Ukraine plan signing a political
agreement on merger during the March 17 congress, leader of the Strong
Ukraine party Serhiy Tihipko said in the Cabinet, ForUm correspondent
reports."
"I believe on March 17 we will hold two congresses during which we will decide on this issue," he said.
In response to the question who would head the list of the Party of Regions at the forthcoming parliamentary elections Tihipko said it is too early to speak about it. The first thing to do is to realize the social initiatives of the president, the official said.
At the same time Tihipko did not rule out that if the realization of the initiatives was successful he would head the party list.
