The demands of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to increase the price of gas for households by 50% are unacceptable, President Viktor Yanukovych said at a meeting with prominent women on the eve of International Women's Day on Tuesday, UKRINFORM reports.
"The demands of the IMF to increase by 50% the gas price for households are unacceptable. We did not agree and will never agree to that," the president said.
Therefore, he added, we do not have a loan from the International Monetary Fund. "However, as they say, whatever happens, happens for the best," Yanukovych said stressing that last year Ukraine managed to reduce the size of external debt.
