Within the program "Open dialogue" an interdepartmental committee on solving conflicts with mass media has been formed under the Interdepartmental working group, engaged into observance of law on freedom of speech and protection of journalists' rights, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.

According to the president's press secretary and head of the Interdepartmental working group Daria Chepak, the decision to form such committee resulted from the pressing need to respond to violations of journalists' right in Ukraine.

"The Interdepartmental working group holds monthly meetings, during which it considers the most high-profile cases, which require public discussion. But along with this journalists often have ongoing problem matters, which need to be settled on a routine basis. And for this we need a committee, which would work on a going basis," Chepak said.

The composition of the interdepartmental committee on solving conflicts with mass media includes representatives of all departments and organizations, working within the Interdepartmental working group, engaged into observance of law on freedom of speech and protection of journalists' rights.
