Prime Minister Mykola Azarov claims that this year the level of mortgage lending of house construction within "Affordable Housing" program will be doubled.
"Our goal this year is at least to double the amount of mortgage lending," the Prime Minister stated, ForUm learend from the press office of the Cabinet. He stressed that in 2011 the volume of construction in Ukraine increased significantly, recording more than 1.5 million square meters, put into service.
At the same time, lower rates of construction are noticed in some regions. The Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing Anatoliy Blyznyuk to find out the reasons for this situation and to correct it.
According to Mykola Azarov, people trust developers again, and this credibility must be supported.
"Our people need to be informed: don’t be tempted by the offers of shady dealers, who offer extremely favourable conditions, but do not guarantee completion of construction. There are serious organizations, supported by the state. Invest in them your funds and the government together with such organizations and local authorities will ensure completion of construction," Mykola Azarov informed.
The PM also suggested making a list of "accredited" and trustworthy construction companies in all regional centers, which would guarantee the completion of the construction. The Prime Minister considers it necessary to establish as soon as possible the insurance of investment contracts in construction.
Construction of affordable housing is a priority for the government, he stressed. He assured that finances provided by the state budget for the program "Affordable housing" will be ensured in full. "Increase in construction is a priority area for us. Our main task is to provide significant growth in this area, to put into operation as more affordable housing as possible and to create conditions for people to buy it," the Prime Minister stressed.
