At least 15 people were killed and 60 injured as two trains collided in southern Poland. According to local mass media, among the victims there were six Ukrainian citizens.

The tragedy happened on Saturday evening on the Warsaw-Krakow railroad near the town of Szczekociny, a Polish television report said. One of the trains was on a wrong track, but it is still unknown how and why it was there. According to reports, scheduled engineering works were underway on one track at Szczekociny station at the time of the crash.



President Viktor Yanukovych expressed his condolences to President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski on the occasion of a train collision that left numerous people killed and injured. The President instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to provide comprehensive assistance to Ukrainian citizens, who were injured.
