The first deputy head of the Batkivshchyna Party, Oleksandr Turchynov, has said he thinks that former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will top the list of the opposition during parliamentary elections in 2012, UKRINFORM reports.

He announced this during the signing of an agreement on unification with the People's Rukh (Movement) of Ukraine.

"I think that she [Tymoshenko] will be the No. 1 on the list of the united opposition, including at the elections," he said.

Turchynov added that the question of the partys top five would be resolved at a congress that will be attended by representatives of all parties that united on the basis of the Batkivshchyna Party.

"I predict that the current [number of parties], when four political forces united, will be preserved and that all of the opposition forces will finally unite," Turchynov said.

As reported, the People's Rukh of Ukraine, the People's Self-Defense Party and the Reforms and Order Party have already united on the basis of the Batkivshchyna Party.
