40 candidates have been officially nominated to the composition of the Constitutional Assembly, which will prepare changes to the Constitution of Ukraine, president's aid Maryna Stavniychuk told a briefing.

Stavniychuk also informed that some organizations, which have quotas in the Assembly, are still considering their candidates. "Academy of legal science has a quota for five people, but it has not submitted any candidate officially. Now they are choosing among 40 possible candidatures, the work continues," the official said.

According to Stavniychuk, the total composition of the Constitutional Assembly is 100 people.

As a reminder, on February 21, 2011 president Viktor Yanukovych decreed to create the Constitutional Assembly, which will prepare changes to the Constitution. Yanukovych appointed former president Leonid Kravchuk, the author of the initiative on Assembly formation, as the head of the expert group on preparation of the Constitutional Assembly.
