The Government is developing a new system of freight transport logistics, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this at a meeting on combating floods in the Carpathian region, UKRINFORM reports.
"Is it normal that we carry rubble by grain tanks and break out roads when there is a river chain and all bulk cargoes must be transported by it? To do this, it is necessary to clear it, to resume mooring economy and rebuild infrastructure. But all bulk cargos must be transported by river. Railroad should also work mightily. Road transport should be used only for what requires prompt delivery. This serious comprehensive program is being developed now," Mykola Azarov said.
He stressed that it is impossible to realize it in several years, but it is necessary to go in this direction, since the carriage of goods by road breaks it down.
