President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych vetoed the law on permission of using narcotic drugs by veterinarians providing surgical care, Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Mykola Prysiazhniuk said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday, ForUm correspondent reports.
The minister informed that the ban on the use of ketamine in veterinary clinics resumes from March 1.
On January 12 the Verkhovna Rada passed amendments to the law on narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors allowing veterinarians to use ketamine.
At the beginning of the last year the government equaled ketamine with narcotic substances and prohibited its use without a license.
