Social inequality and income difference among citizens create instability within the society, and this problem must be solved urgently, prime minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov told a meeting with scientists of the National Academy of Science, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to Azarov, the government needs help of the scientific society with this problem.
"Low salaries lead to insecurity of the working class. Besides, the major part of people's income is in shadow, which deforms the whole picture. We also have a problem with targeting of social assistance," the premier noted.
At the same time Azarov pointed out that the government at least managed to keep low level of tariffs for population.
"For example, electricity tariffs in Ukraine are ten times lower than in Europe," Azarov underlined.
