Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych starts holding working meetings at his Mezhyhiria residence in Novi Petrivtsi, where a new office has been rented until 2020 with the possibility of annual renewal, the president's press office said in a statement.

According to the statement, a decision to arrange an office space directly next to the presidential residence was made in connection with the necessity of the President to quickly work during working hours, non-working hours, weekends and holidays, etc. It is also about avoiding the transportation complications due to the traffic on the Kyiv roads, especially at rush hours.

"Until now, the President used for these purposes the cabinet and the living room in his house, which, unfortunately, did not meet the appropriate level of work organization and protocol requirements," reads the statement.

Under the agreement, the office owner provides fully furnished office rooms for work, while the State Directorate of Affairs equips the premises with special communication and stationery.

The President uses for his working meetings three rooms with total area of 128.8 square meters: the cabinet, the reception room with a working place for an assistant and the meeting room.
