Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn calls for providing a proper financial support to the army and raising prestige of the occupation of a military servant.  

During the working trip to Novohrad-Volynskyi in Zhytomyr region, Lytvyn visited the thirtieth separate infantry brigade and held a meeting with personnel of the military unit, ForUm learned from the press office of the parliament.

"Despite all the hardships, you continue your military activities," Lytvyn stressed addressing the military servants. The speaker highly appreciated the contribution of the personnel of this military unit to the support of peace in the Balkans (military servants from the brigade took part in the peacekeeping operation of the NATO multinational forces in Kosovo). The head of the parliament said that the occupation of a military servant is dangerous, as the world with a plenty of frozen conflict does not become more peaceful. 

Lytvyn assured that the parliament and he personally will exert every effort, so that the army "would not struggle for survival" and the occupation of a military servant will become more prestigious. "I would like your wives and children to be proud of you," he said.
