The opposition forces of the parliament submit for consideration a resolution on dismissal of education minister Dmytro Tabachnyk, deputy speaker Mykola Tomenko informed, ForUm correspondent reports.

Tomenko told the parliament that the opposition is planning to address the president and prime minister with a request to dismiss Tabachnyk from his post and to submit corresponding draft bill for consideration by the parliament.

In his turn, head of the Party of Regions faction Oleksandr Yyefremov said in a comment that the opposition's request is motivated by the intention to nominate its candidate for this position, and reminded that staff issues in the Cabinet of ministers are decided by the president.

"Tabachnyk has a number of initiatives, treated in different ways, but in general these initiatives are welcomed by heads of educational institutions. I want to say that there are forces which want to see a different person on this position, and they have a right to express their point of view, but to dismiss the minister is still the right of the Cabinet and president," the official said.
