"We need to develop primary and emergency care, make medical care readily available to people through family physicians and family outpatient clinics," said Viktor Yanukovych, adding that the number of modern high-quality clinics currently operating in Ukraine clearly does not meet the demand.
Among one of the healthcare reform priorities Yanukovych also pointed out the necessity to bring perinatal care in Ukraine closer to European standards.
Yanukovych noted that to achieve this goal, the government has started opening modern perinatal centers across Ukraine, such as the one recently opened in Kirovohrad.
The President also stressed that it is important to improve the conditions of care for children born with pathologies.
