An expert of the Institute of Practical Policies, Svitlana Kushnir, and an activist of the hostel movement, the coordinator of the initiative "Kyiv a Hospitable City!," Yulia Shkurko, announced this at a press conference entitled "Why are foreign tourists afraid of visiting Kyiv during EURO 2012?" on Tuesday, according to UKRINFORM.
According to Shkurko, week-long stay in Kyiv according to an international booking system will cost EUR 1,440, while that in Warsaw - EUR 660. Thus, Ukrainian prices exceed "all possible standards" by more than twice.
At the same time, Kushnir added that the expenditures of foreign tourists on one-day stay in Kyiv were not in Ukraine's favor.
In particular, experts included in the calculation prices in both cities for accommodation for one night in a four-star hotel, the cost of a pizza with cheese, a dry martini and a taxi ride for a distance of eight kilometers.
"A guest of the Ukrainian capital will have to spend 332 dollars from his wallet for that, while a tourist who will travel to Warsaw - USD 149," she said.
