On Tuesday morning the international commission of doctors, consisting of three Canadian, two German and six Ukrainian doctors, and headed by Ukrainian First Deputy Health Minister Raisa Moiseyenko arrived at the Kachanivska penal colony in Kharkiv, to visit and examine former PM Yulia Tymoshenko.

Later, the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine reported that Tymoshenko refused to undergo a medical examination of her health, which she requested herself, demanding that the Ukrainian specialists be banned from participating.

"The prisoner refused to be examined by experts of the Ukrainian Health Ministry and doctors of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine. Such statements by Tymoshenko are a direct violation of current Ukrainian legislation," the service said in a statement on Tuesday.

A respective protocol regarding Tymoshenko's refusal of the services of doctors has been made. The commission is now deciding what to do next.
