Ukraine and Latvia have signed a program of economic cooperation until 2013.

The program was signed by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Volodymyr Bandurov and State Secretary of the Economics Ministry of the Republic of Latvia Juris Puce during Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov's official visit to Latvia, UKRINFORM reported, referring to the liaison department of the Cabinet of Ministers' Secretariat.

"I am grateful to all who participated in preparation of the document that defines our relationship for many years," Azarov said.

In turn, Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis said that bilateral trade and economic relations are developing dynamically and have a considerable potential.

Azarov thanked Latvia for its support to Ukraine's European integration aspirations. He noted that Latvia's experience in accession to the EU is valuable to Ukraine: "We are interested in the experience of Latvia, which quickly integrated into the European Union."

A Memorandum of Understanding between the State Agency for Investment and Management of National Projects of Ukraine and the Latvian Investment and Development Agency was also signed.

The State Agency of Ukraine for Science, Innovation and Informatization signed a program for cooperation in the field of science and technology with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia.
