Conviction of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko meets the norms of UN convention on fight against corruption, Justice Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Lavrynovych said during the Hour of questions to the government, being held in the parliament, ForUm correspondent reports.

In particular, according to him, articles 364-365 of the Criminal Code, under which Tymoshenko was processed and convicted, meet the Ukraine-EU Plan of Actions.

"During 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 these articles (364-365 of the Criminal Code) were defined in the Ukraine-EU Plan of Actions as obligatory for the fight against corruption," Lavrynovych declared.

At the same time the Minister added that "it does not mean they cannot be changed." "But this issue can be solved only in this session hall," Lavrynovych summed up.
