112 people have died of hyperthermia for the period of severe frosts in Ukraine, Emergency Situations Minister Viktor Baloha said during the Hour of questions to the government, being held in the parliament, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The frosts took 112 lives. The Emergency Situations Ministry made everything possible to prevent casualties," the Minister said.

According to Baloha, timely measures taken by the government to face cold weather helped to minimize negative consequences of low temperature in Ukraine.

"The cold snap was not unexpected. We have opened 3386 mobile heating stations, which are still functioning. On behalf of the government I want to thank all those, who did not stay indifferent and was helping to overcome negative consequences of the frosts," he said.

"The government has allocated additional 35 million hryvnias for liquidation of emergencies. And I want to point out that no emergency situation of the state level has happened for today," Baloha summed up.
