Public order in Ukrainians host-cities during Euro-2012 matches will be maintained by 16 thousand police officials, head of the Interior Ministry public security department Serhiy Pogotov told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"We plan to engage 16 thousand police officers for days of matches and about nine thousand for the days between the matches," he said.

Pogotov also pointed out that if necessary the department will allot additional police forces and in case of emergencies may engaged internal troops.

"However, the Interior Ministry stands for invisible presence of police forces, hence the major part of troops will be in reserve. Law enforcement forces will serve by three shifts," the official summed up.
