Foreign doctors still cannot start examining former Ukrainian Prime Minister and Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko, who is serving her sentence in a penal colony near Kharkiv, due to unsolved "technical issues," the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has told UKRINFORM, after a meeting involving the ambassadors of Canada and Germany, representatives of the Ukrainian Health Ministry and the State Penitentiary Service, which took place on Wednesday.

"The Ukrainian side has once again confirmed its readiness to receive foreign experts so that the joint medical commission could begin its work as soon as possible. However, due to a number of unsolved technical issues, in particular, due to the absence of a complete package of properly adjusted documents, foreign experts were unable to begin their work on February 8, as earlier proposed by the Ukrainian side," reads the statement.

In addition, the Foreign Ministry said that the Ukrainian side had not yet received a list of medical equipment and instruments, which are to be brought to Ukraine to conduct Tymoshenko's examination.

The ministry said that these issues would be resolved as soon as possible and that this would help create the necessary legal framework for the work of the joint medical commission from February 13.
