Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov thanked officials of the Emergency Situations Ministry, social services, doctors and ordinary citizens for helping save people from cold weather, bringing them to heating stations, giving food and clothes.
"The work should be continued as the weather forecast center warns that the peak of frosts will come by the end of this week. We must mobilize all our forces, to listen to the information provide by official bodies and to take additional measures to protect people from the cold," the Premier declared.
Azarov also informed he ordered to hold a teleconference with governors to find out which regions are at major risk and how to help.
