Head of the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ULIE) Anatoliy Kinakh is planning to discuss with the Russian government the question of a ban on supplies of Ukrainian cheese to Russia. He announced this at a press conference in Moscow, UKRINFORM reported.

"I think that we will discuss this question as part of our cooperation [with the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry], including with the Russian government, so that these issues do not to destroy the foundation of mutual trust, which currently exists between our states," Kinakh said.

He said that the Russian market, in particular, the dairy market, was very important for Ukraine. "The latest figures for 2011 are 67,000 tons, and in money terms it's about USD 370 million," Kinakh said.

The ULIE head also added that the Russian ban on Ukrainian cheese supplies should not currently be called a "trade war." In his opinion, this problem should be resolved without any emotional and political tension, in accordance with the current procedures and regulations.
