The opposition and ruling majority must execute PACE resolution, ombudsperson Nina Karpachyova said delivering her annual report to the parliament, ForUm correspondent reports.

"I want to tell you that in 2001 I defended the rights of Ms Tymoshenko, when she was imprisoned in Lukianivska detention facility. We must always be unbiased and just. In 2005 I also defended the rights of then political prisoners Evgeniy Kushnaryov, Borys Kolesnikov, Ternopil governor Zhukovski and many other ordinary citizens, who we don't speak about in this session hall," she said.

In Karpachyova's opinion, PACE resolution is criticizing, but balanced. "The resolution shows respect to Ukraine, and at the same time proposes a number of systemic approaches to unite the opposition and majority in order to execute the resolution itself," the ombudsperson pointed out.
