Due to difficult weather conditions, ice-class tugs pilot ships at Ukrainian ports. Ice campaign was declared at all ports of this country, except for those in Sevastopol, Yalta and Feodosia, UKRINFORM reported.
The thickness of ice in the harbor areas ranges from 10 to 25 cm; the situation is complicated by strong gusts of wind, icing and drifting ice floes.
The situation is particularly difficult in the northern part of the Kerch Strait because of piling up ice. Pilotage by the Kerch-Yenikalsky channel and to the ports of the Azov Sea is carried out with obligatory accompaniment of icebreakers Kapitan Belousov (Ukraine), Kapitan Demidov and Kapitan Krutov (both - Russia).
