The volume of Ukrainian Internet traffic dropped by 5-15% after suspension of the online file hosting resource EX.UA by law enforcement agencies, according to Serhiy Polishchuk, technical administrator of the Ukrainian traffic exchange network (UA-IX).

According to him, earlier the view was that users' downloading information from the resource occupies almost a half of all Ukrainian traffic. "But we saw that once the resource was closed, the traffic fell by 15%. And in the period of maximum load a drop of only 5% was observed," he stressed, UKRINFORM reports.

After closing EX.UA on January 31, the interior ministry's website stopped working. The ministry does not rule out a DDoS attack. The site of the President of Ukraine also works intermittently.

Following the resource EX.UA, which the interior ministry closed on Tuesday, another Ukrainian file sharing resource, Upload.com.ua, was brought down under the anti-piracy campaign in Ukraine.
