Ukraine will be under monitoring of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe at least until the end of 2012, and visit of PACE representatives in March is planned as part of this monitoring, MP, member of the Party of Regions parliamentary faction and PACE Vice-President Ivan Popescu said, ForUm learned from the press office of the Party of Regions.

"We have not fulfilled three more commitments to the CoE yet. And until we do, we will be under monitoring. At the moment we still have the Criminal Procedure Code, Laws on Advocacy and Prosecution," the MP said.

According to him, regardless of the resolution, which has been recently adopted by the PACE on Ukraine, it is the functional responsibility of representatives of the Council of Europe "to follow closely the processes occurring inside the country to which they are attached."

Ivan Popescu believes that formal commitments, made by Ukraine, can be fulfilled by the end of 2012 - early 2013.

"New Criminal Procedure Code, I think, will be adopted at the next parliamentary session. The Law on Prosecution may be adopted by the end of the year, while the Law on Advocacy even earlier," the parliamentarian said.
