Budget of the state defense order will be increased four times, director of finance department of Defense Ministry of Ukraine General Lieutenant Ivan Marko told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The budget will be increased four times, up to one billion 479 million hryvnias. I am sure that the state defense order, first of all the latest models of military equipment, will be financed," he noted.
Marko also informed that the government will allocate additional resource, about one billion hryvnias (by 51% more than in 2011), for renovation and modernization of military units: aircrafts, aviation equipment, tanks.
According to Marko, in 2012 the financial assistance to peacemakers will be also increased - by 2.5 times, while the UN compensation budget will be increased by 18%.
In addition, the General Lieutenant specified that the government allocates 13.3 billion hryvnias for maintenance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is by 20.7% more than in 2011.
