MP from the Party of Regions, President's representative in the parliament Yuri Myroshnychenko submitted a draft bill, which provides for exempting private institutes from income and land taxes.
According to the current legislation, only private kindergartens and schools, as well as state education institutions are exempted from these taxes. In his explanatory note Myroshnychenko noted that according to the Constitution all property holders are equal before the law.
"Such selective approach regarding tax exemption for education institutions is a violation of basic norms of activity of various forms of ownership," he added.
Myroshnychenko believes that adoption of this law will eliminate discrimination against education institutions.
