Leninsky District Court of Luhansk has passed a three-year sentence on Luhansk council deputy Roman Landyk, the son of Regions Party MP Volodymyr Landyk, two-years of which were suspended.

Landyk has been released from custody in the courtroom, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

Landyk was also ordered to pay court costs and for the period of the sentence is forbidden to leave Ukraine.

According to unconfirmed information, Landyk's lawyers plan to appeal the court's ruling, insisting that their client is innocent.
