According to preliminary data of State statistics service, GDP growth in 2011 was 5.5%, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov told a session of the Cabinet, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the PM, such GDP growth is the biggest among CIS and EU countries, while the inflation level is the lowest for the last eight years with its 4.6%.

The Prime Minister noted that thanks to such figures the purchasing power of Ukrainians increased by 15% last year. Azarov explained that comparing to 2010, last year Ukrainians bought more consumer goods, cars and household appliances by 15%.
