The Health Ministry of Ukraine is preparing to organizational-structural and financial-economic reorganization of the public health system to implement insurance medicine, Health Minister Oleksandr Anishchenko said in an interview to the Fifth Channel, according to UKRINFORM.

"Organizational-structural restructuring of the health system, financial-economic reorganization of the healthcare system, we are preparing this for implementation of insurance medicine. Recently, I have signed letters, and we send them to our counterparts in other ministries for familiarization, which will allow reducing the financial pressure on a patient at the expense of the insurance company funds," Anishchenko said.

According to him, there are over six draft laws on insurance medicine in Ukraine now, each of them says that an employer has to insure a person. "And if the matter concerns pensioners and children, the state will insure them," the Minister explained.

He also added that in 2011, an accent in medicine will be made on family general practice medicine.
