
"I think those are unfounded and subjective statements. It is not clear according to what methods it was checked. There could be many questions to ask Mr. Onischenko... I wish that this statement was seen as a personal statement by the Russian official, not as an official position of the Government of the Russian Federation," Vadym Chaharovsky said.
He also expressed doubt that Ukrainian dairy companies "would like to lose this market segment again."
As reported, Gennady Onischenko said his agency, having analyzed the situation in the dairy products segment of the consumer market, concluded that "in the fourth quarter of 2011, there was a marked deterioration in consumer properties of the cheeses shipped from Ukraine." In particular, the point at issue is an excess of palm oil in the cheese, which comes to Russia from some Ukrainian producers.
