Ukrainian-Russian relations should not depend on people, engaged with food quality control, spokesman of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry Oleksandr Dykusarov told a briefing commenting on the 'animal' statement by Russian chief of public health service Gennady Onishchenko, ForUm correspondent reports.

"In general, this question is outside the competence of the Ministry on Foreign Affairs," Dukusarov said in particular and reminded that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryshchenko said on his page on Twitter that Russia's chief sanitary doctor Gennady Onishchenko should apologize to Ukraine for his remarks.

"Russia has a very professional Foreign Affairs Ministry and very highly-qualified diplomats. We believe that Ukrainian-Russian relations should be handled by highly professional diplomats, rather than by people who control the quality of certain products and are engaged in cleanliness at public eating establishments," Dykusarov summed up.
