President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has criticized the head of State tax administration for excessive tax pressure on taxpayers.

Speaking at the meeting of the committee on economic reforms, Yanukovych has noted that among positive results of State tax administration work in 2011 is the increase of VAT refund amount. But at the same time the President has pointed out that the pressure on tax payers has also increased, ForUm correspondent reports.

"I am not fully convinced that we've made everything right. We refunded 42 billion hryvnias of VAT last year. This is a great result, but if we look at all complaints from business representatives and taxpayers regarding excessive pressure, we will see that these complaints nullify all preparatory work on tax reform," the President noted.

Yanukovych ahs also criticized the head of State tax administration for failure to open single office for large taxpayers. "Why have we stopped this process? No answer. But the head of the tax administration told me that it does not depend on his department, but on the government," the President stated.
