Ukraine intends to buy as much Russian gas as needed for Ukrainian economy, Energy Minister Yuri Boiko told today's session of the government, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to Boiko, the government intends to reduce twofold the purchase amount of gas. "From January 1, we will purchase 27 milliard cu m...We will purchase as much as we need for our economy. If our partners have questions, they can solve them in a civilized manner," the Minister said.
The next round of gas talks is scheduled for January 15, 2012.
