Eugenia Tymoshenko, daughter of the imprisoned former PM and opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko, accused of embezzlement and abuse of power, says the court decision requiring her mother to pay losses to Naftogaz company was illegal and impossible to execute.

“We don’t have such financial resources and never had. It’s impossible. The regime wants this, but it doesn’t mean it will happen,” Eugenia Tymoshenko said in an interview today on channel TVi, according to Tymoshenko's official website.

On October 7 Tymoshenko was found guilty of the abuse of office when she signed gas deals with Russia in 2009, was sentenced to seven years in jail and ordered to pay $187 million in damages to the Naftogaz company. The Court of Appeals upheld the sentence and on December 30 Yulia Tymoshenko was transferred to a penal colony in Kharkiv region.
