Head of the Kharkiv penal colony, where Yulia Tymoshenko is kept, Ivan Pervushkin confirmed that the former PM is under video surveillance.

"Video surveillance is not prohibited by the law. To conduct proper video surveillance the cells must be lighted up well enough. We have ore than 80 cells in the colony. And we are responsible for security of all detainees," Pervushkin told journalists in response to the question on video surveillance and constant light in the cell of Yulia Tymoshenko.

Pervushkin also informed that Tymoshenko is kept in a cell with another woman, also convicted for economic crimes. Tymoshenko is not involved into colony works, as her current status is arrested under investigation.

In response to the question on how Tymoshenko celebrated the New Year, the colony chief said the ex-PM could watch TV till 2 a.m. In addition, on December 31 Tymoshenko got a parcel with 100 items.
