The National Bank of Ukraine has put into circulation 11 commemorative coins made of gold, silver and German silver and dedicated to Euro-2012, Deputy Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Volodymyr Krotyuk told a presentation.

Golden coin 500-hryvnya worth and weighting 500 grams is made for collection and has limited number of copies - 500. The nominal cost of the collection golden coin is 350,245 hryvnias.

Coins of silver and German silver with denomination of 10 and 5 hryvnias and run of 15 and 100 thousand copies respectively represent Ukrainian Euro-2012 host cities. Silver coin of 20 hryvnias dedicated to the final match of the tournament has 15 thousand copies.

A gift set of five Euro-2012 silver coins in a leather box costs 3,145 hryvnias, and the same set in a wooden box costs 3,055 hryvnias. German silver coins with a denomination of five hryvnias will be sold for 22 hryvnias.

Deputy Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Volodymyr Krotyuk says that all commemorative coins will be distributed only in regional city centers of Ukraine, mainly in host cities, through branches of the National Bank and the UniCredit Bank, which is the official partner of the championship.

All Euro-2012 coins will be offered for sale as of 28 December 2011, but their large-scale sale will begin after the Christmas holidays. The National Bank also plans to organize local sale near the stadium during the Euro-2012 match days.

It is also planned to put into circulation a one- hryvnia coin for Euro-2012 with a run of one million copies.
